The Light is Growing Brighter Now

Cat Bee December 23, 2014

As this year comes to a close, all I can think is that with each passing year, week, day... breath, there is ever more that I am grateful for. So many beloved friends and beautiful strangers have been lost this year and will be eternally missed. I am thankful for the health and happiness of those that do remain with us, as well as the love and support I have received from both family and strangers.

I am appreciative that throughout the profound struggles against violence, prejudice, natural phenomenon and too much death in the past year we have remained united as a community of conscious beings to do our best to better the world and not repeat the mistakes of the past.

The same as always, my 'resolutions' for the coming year and every second of every day are to try and be a kinder, more generous person and keep creating! Thank you to ALL my inspirations, every artist, writer, singer, poet, musician... every tree, rock, flower... the smell of the breeze at the ocean, the feelings of toes in cool sand, the beat of a djembe around a bonfire. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Forever Grateful!

Mama Moon

Cat Bee June 22, 2014

Something that guides, silences, awes and inspires me every day is THE MOON.

Whether I can see it or not, I think about her. I say her because I often imagine the moon as a benevolent motherly goddess creature who watches without judging.

My favorite moon moments are when the sun and moon are up at the same time at sunrise in the summer and they are across from each other on the horizon in the morning. It makes me feel like maybe I AM the center of the universe, if only for a second.

I also love when the moon hangs low on the horizon in the evening and the optical illusion caused by the curve of the Earth makes it look huge in the sky. Usually I'm driving along thinking... what is that bright light over the crest of that hill? And then I get to the top and realize WOW IT'S THE MOON AND IT'S TAKING OVER THE SKY.

Tonight, even though it is raining and I don't see the moon, I know it is there and for that I am grateful.

Goodnight moon!
